Enclomiphene

Enclomiphene is an oral therapy for men with low testosterone who want to maintain natural sperm production. Unlike traditional testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), enclomiphene works by stimulating the body’s own testosterone production rather than replacing it.

Overview

Enclomiphene is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) that helps increase testosterone levels in men with secondary hypogonadism. Rather than introducing external testosterone, enclomiphene promotes the body’s internal hormonal feedback loop to stimulate natural testosterone production. This can help preserve fertility and avoid the testicular shrinkage often associated with traditional TRT.

What is Enclomiphene Prescribed For?

Enclomiphene may be prescribed for men experiencing low testosterone levels, who want to maintain fertility and avoid exogenous hormone use. It is often used when patients want to improve testosterone without compromising sperm production.

Other Uses

Beyond potentially improving low testosterone, enclomiphene may be used to help restore natural testosterone levels in men recovering from anabolic steroid use. It may also play a role in supporting athletic performance, lean muscle maintenance and increased libido.

Preliminary research suggests it may assist with improving insulin resistance and blood glucose regulation in men with metabolic syndrome.
