Liraglutide is a synthetic glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist that works by activating natural GLP-1 pathways in the body. What is Liraglutide Prescribed For?
Liraglutide may be prescribed to help regulate blood sugar in adults and children (10+) with type 2 diabetes and to reduce cardiovascular risk in adults with diabetes and heart disease. It is also used to support weight loss in eligible adults with a BMI of 30 or higher, or 27+ with related health conditions.
